I really enjoyed the process for this drawing project. We were instructed to find a video source to start our brainstorming process. We started this project around late October, and I knew that I would be going on a drive out in the country with my family and wanted to work with something from that drive.
I found a video of an abandoned building where the camera pulled focus from a cobweb on the window frame, to the interior or the room. I’ve always been fascinated with these types of places so I knew this would be a good starting point.
When my family went on our drive we came across a building that was run down. There was a crack in the front window, I was intrigued.
I wanted the pieces to play on the idea of curiosity and the spooky feeling that places like this exude.
